SMTMS proudly presents a New Ross debut and our 12th annual production... West Side Story!. Under the guidance of our regulars; Kevin Kennedy (Director), Philip Kennedy (Musical Director) and Claire Kickham (Choreographer), this show is certain to be a fantastic production. 

In this landmark Broadway musical the world's greatest love story takes to the streets. Its exciting, sophisticated score by Leonard Bernstein is often considered Broadway's finest, and lends itself to creative interpretation, drama and dance.

Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs; the "American" Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.
